Its no secret that the Sunday River Area has an abundance of outdoor terrain and wide spectrum of seasons. you can feel those negative temp winds in January that trail off from mt Washington and the near by whites while a few months later sweltering in the stillness of the august heatwave that lately leaves brooks and streams empty. The conditions here are never the same consecutive seasons and maybe thats what make this such a exciting place to recreate, even if you know the map like the back of your hand the landscape will show up differently. We believe that this is part of what brings so many outdoor enthusiasts to our beautiful inland mountains of Maine to train for some of the worlds largest sporting events. this makes in no surprise that there are 4 athletes competing in the 2026 World Olympics in Italy who have called our area home and our little inland mountain community :
